The Poori Aloo Lunch Box

The ❤❤❤ Puri Lunchbox It is a tough one everyday to plan kids lunch boxes and making sure that the lunch is appealing enough so that the dabba comes back home empty...So, this is what Little M carried with her to school today...dont miss that Kaju Katli, her favorite in the box. Keeping my fingers crossed so that she finishes all of that.. In her dabba is: ✔ The little heart shaped Puris ✔ A piece of Kaju Katli ✔ Some almonds and dried cranberries ✔ Simple Aloo ki Sabzi

Weekend Lunch

Yay...it's Saturday...and Little M had a half day, I had promised her macaroni for lunch only if she helped me in the kitchen...So Little M and Mommy made some macaroni today and this plate was plated by Little M... Apart from taking out her favorite book and she is trying to read by herself, she took out her playdough too...And grated some cheese🧀🧀🧀 (If you are doing this with your LO please let them do this under adult supervision only) Now that it is all inside our little tummies we are going to snooze...have an exciting evening planned for her today... So on LittleM's plate is ⭐ Macaroni and cheese with a hint of 🍅 ⭐ A surprise caramel custard from mommy's refrigerator ⭐ Strawberry🍓🍓🍓 ⭐ And to fill up the plate some chocolates that she promised to eat later (oh I wish 😜😜😜) we had so so so much fun in the kitchen..and more fun when Little M got her hands on my old DSLR..

To bake or not to bake!

Its 9.30 pm.

The little monster is off to bed and the husband lurks around the corner asking for dinner…but the only thing on my mind is the dilemma -  to bake or not to bake…

My mind is full of flour, butter, chocolate, sugar, and eggs. And the goodness that’s it is about to create…

The aroma that I grew up with.

And like that in a jiffy I gulp down my dinner even before hubby dearest could finish half of it and get down to pre-heating my oven and mixing cake batter and soon after I see a heavenly rich brown batter ready to go into the baking tins…I put away the cake batter into the oven, set the timer and then time and again stalk the oven to see the rise on my cake…I wait for the timer to ring with my heart fluttering as if I am on my first date..and then voila the time has come… the whiff of freshly baked cake overtakes me and I am transported into some other world…I handle it with care as I would handle a new born and wait impatiently for it to cool down. But my greed takes over and I help myself with a large piece and gulp it down to satiate my senses…. I look at the gooey mess on my counter top…..It was all worth it...as it dawns upon me…there is always time to bake..so much for little miracle stress busters in life…
