What is Good?
My top picks here would be
The Tutto Funghi Uramaki with Italian undertones is delightful vegetarian sushi, with a combination of wild mushrooms, shimeji tempura, kewpie and snow peas. The use of chive blossoms gives the dish an extra dimension that blends beautifully with other elements in the dish.
The Srilankan Roll on the other hand is one of the prettiest dish on the sushi menu. A great combination of spicy crabmeat, coconut cream and sambal gives the divine flavor. The beetroot rice gives the beautiful pink color and the yam crisps bring in the bite. It also boasts of skewing a non vegetarian into a vegetarian sushi lover
The Norwegian Salmon Maki had smoked salmon flavored with Philadelphia cheese, sauerkraut, cranberries, mustard artichokes and toasted sesame and oh boy, were we hooked. The salmon was perfect with the smoky flavors and tenderness, a perfect balance of sweet and savory that will and single-handedly pull back the carnivorous fare to the top favorites again.
The Jamaican Roll is made with crayfish – a South American local seafood, spicy jerk mayo; the sushi rice which traditionally cooked with rice wine is replaced with tequila here that makes sure that the flavors will explode in your mouth.
These are my top 4 from the travelling sushi festival…The Peking Duck Maki, Greek Maki, Mediterranean Roll and the Chiang Mai Uramaki are the others on the menu to try
Overall if you’re a fan of sushi, then head straight to Shizusan. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this opportunity. Only 12 more days to go before the festival ends…Book your table now.
Cheers!!!
