The Deli comes to Koregaon Park! | Bellydriven | Pune

30 August 2017

With a menu that encompasses much-loved selection of sandwiches, salads, pastas, light meals, and such; a wide range of scrumptious desserts; a bevy of handcrafted cocktails and other beverages and a daily changing, “specials” menu – the Deli comes to  Koregaon Park.  Famous for its European and Continental cuisines, Indigo Delicatessen threw opened the doors to its second outlet at Koregaon Park on the 22nd August 2017. Read on for the complete experience.

How does it look?

This 70 seater, spread across 2000 sq. ft. (including the kitchen), is smartly designed to maximize the space, with the focal point being the interactive bar, laced with seating through the remaining area of the restaurant. The restaurant is laden with windows across an entire stretch, which allows diners to enjoy a meal while watching the hustle & bustle of the locality outside.

The space has a young and casual vibe giving its diners a livelier, fun Deli experience.

The Menu

The Soup

Shiitake & Barley Chicken Soup –  Robust and flavorful deli-style soup with chicken. This Mushroom Barley Soup is a great vegan variation on the classic deli style soups found in eastern European and Jewish restaurants. I loved the addition of dried shiitake mushrooms that replaces the usual cremini mushrooms. But what I loved most is that the soup was completely #dairyfree

The Salad

And I got a dairy free salad that paired perfectly well with the soup. Mixed lettuce, fennel, apple, dried cranberries and candied walnuts aligned together with the honey lemon dressing. Perfect for that meatless Monday outing.

The Wafer Thin Pizzas

The thin crust pizzas are a Deli speciality – with the crispiest crust and an assortment of the yummiest toppings. The 3 smoked pepper and 3 cheese pizza: Red, yellow and bhavnagari peppers with cheddar, scamorza and mozzarella cheese was bang on flavors but my heart went out to the The Barbecue Chicken and Cheddar Pizza that had Chicken strips tossed in a well made in-house barbecue sauce and cheese.

The Mains

Deli Roast Chicken: Well cooked chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes and a delicious gravy to go along with it. #MustTry

The Charcoal Tortellini: This spooky pasta is perfect for an October and or Halloween feast. Stuffed with atlantic salmon and crab with an arugula puree and truffle pesto, the thickness of the tortellini failed to impress me. In terms of flavors it was to the point.

The Kingfish Crusted with Coconut Chilli: The spin with the cocnut chilli crust works well the fish in this preparation. The buttered pok choy and the paprika buerre blanc complement the dish.  #MustHave

The Saffron Risotto was as comforting it can get with the anise butter and braised fennel

The Desserts

Chocolate layered almond cake – A different taste in each bite…Spectacular is the word. Again a triple layer Almonds, cake , light & dark chocolate- served with butterscotch sauce and topped with a almond praline

The Whiskey Pate – Possibly the booziest—and perhaps even the most indulgent—cake on Indigo Deli’s list. This dessert is #AdultsOnly

Finally, the star attraction at Indigo Deli – The Homemade Ice Creams! Each flavour is to die for and these ice creams just melt in your mouth. I am not an ice cream fan, but here I just couldn’t stop – a must try.  We tried the Blueberry & Mint, Belgian chocolate truffle , Rocky Road and Strawberry Cheese Cake

So whether there is that breakfast meeting,  leisurely weekend family meals, quick afternoon work catch-ups, an evening of romance for two, or a power-packed night with friends – Indigo Deli, Pune offers a revived dining and bar experience catering to all moods and reasons.
